About Us

Code B is a private corporation comprised of professionals in the building industry that work with the public to resolve un-permitted building issues. The goal of Code B is to assist the property owner with compliance.

Code B was created to educate the public and eliminate the habit of performing construction without permits. We have created a system to resolve code issues in order to save the property owner both time and money.

Code B assists with all aspects of residential compliance. Most of our work is derived from un-permitted issues with private property.  Some code issues are: junk-like conditions; abandoned motor vehicles stored on the property; untended landscape; setback requirements; permit issues; verifying home businesses such as day care facilities, etc. and many more.

The founder of Code B has seen the negative effects of code violations and building without a permit and wants to help owners, tenants, neighbors and communities negotiate the code and permitting process as easily as possible.  Removing obstacles to proper permitting so that property owners aren’t tempted to cut corners is the principle aim of Code B as well as ensuring safe compliance in San Diego and surrounding communities.

Because of the founder’s long experience with the City, Building Departments, Code Requirements, Building Inspectors and the Permitting Process, Code B has an excellent working relationship with the City and Code Enforcement Officers. Code B can often help property owners resolve issues before the City even needs to get involved or before citations and fines are issued.  Once the City is involved, Code B can facilitate quick and non-adversarial resolution of code violations and unpermitted issues.

Circumventing building codes and building permits does not serve anyone . . .  not the property owner, the tenant, neighbors, or the community at large.  Code B was founded to facilitate proper, safe, compliant and attractive building in our communities.
